Fitness Classes

We have a wide array of class options offered throughout the year! Please check our quarterly schedule for current class offerings. The classes below, which are offered FREE OF CHARGE to YMCA members, are $7 per visit for guests--up to 6 visits per calendar year.

DANCE FUSION

This class is designed for everybody! It is a combination of dance exercises with popular music. It provides a beneficial cardio and full body workout. Come join our enthusiastic instructor to get your groove on and get into shape! Free for members and only $7 per class for non-members. Check out our Calendar Tab for Class times.

SPINNING

This 45 minute Group Cycle Class mirrors a road biking experience. We climb hills and race down flat roads—all with no weather to worry about! This is a great class for beginning, intermediate and advanced fitness levels. Push your personal limits while enjoying the rhythm of the beat! YOGA

These innovative classes improve your strength, flexibility and posture. Proper technique and breathing are taught through the various forms of yoga. We will teach you to focus on your mind, body and spirit. Free for members and only $7 per class for non-members. Check out our Calendar Tab for Class times.

ZUMBA TONING

Zumba Toning takes the original Zumba fitness class to the next level! Utilizing innovative muscle training with the addition of light weights, it is a combination of cardio and dynamic resistance exercises that improves overall muscle strength. R.I.P.P.E.D.

This is a total body workout! It’s high intensity style program is designed to utilize free weights, band resistance and body weight exercises. It is derived from the One Stop Body Shock System—stimulating both different energy systems and muscles in each workout segment, changing the focus and activities every 6 to 9 minutes. YOGAFUSE

Yogafuse adds a fitness regime to the traditional yoga class. The fusion aspect cam include strength training, resistance work, cardio, elements of dance, or Pilates moves. Free for members and only $7 per class for non-members. Check out our Calendar Tab for Class times.

SILVER SNEAKERS CLASSES

Come join our Certified Silver Sneakers trainer to get a workout modified for each individual’s physical limitations and needs. Current class offerings include Silver Sneaker Classic, Yoga, and Cardio. These classes are a great place to start for anyone who has mobility issues. Chair support is offered to safely perform the exercises. Taught by Sandy Jackson. ZUMBA

This class fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a one of a kind fitness workout! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms, in addition to resistance training, are combined to tone and sculpt your body. Taught by Kim Beard. H.I.I.T. IT!

Intermediate/Advanced class that combines high intensity interval training with muscle conditioning. Come Prepared to work hard and be pushed to your fullest potential. Check out our Calendar Tab for Class times.

MUSCLE & FITNESS

A full body work out that targets all of the major muscle groups. This class is designed to strengthen and tone the body while empowering the mind. Whether you are new to fitness or advanced, you are sure to be challenged and have fun. Check out our Calendar Tab for Class times.

LAP SWIMMING

It is that time again to take to the pool. Lap swimming is back at the Salem Middle School. It is free for members and $2 for non-members. All you need to do is be able to swim at an intermediate level. Check out our Calendar Tab for Class times.

CARDIO KICKBOXING

This Class is for any fitness level. It is a combination of punches and kicks. A 45 minute way to burn off calories. Check out our Calendar Tab for Class times.

STRENGTH TRAINING

This class is a physical exercise specializing in the use of resistance to induce muscular contraction which builds strength, anaerobic endurance, & size of muscles.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

This class fuses together body sculpting and cardiovascular movements for a total strength and cardio workout in a circuit training model.

ABS EXPRESS

This twenty minute class is a quick, total ab work out! Our core muscles are so important for all that we do—this class will get you on track! Take a quick break from your day & work on a better you through this intense work out.

TONING 101

This class is designed for those who are wanting to get started with strength training. A variety of equipment will be used to give you a full body workout. In this class, you will also improve form, strength, muscle tone, and flexibility. All levels are welcome!

SUNDAY BONUS!!

Do you like to MIX IT UP? Are you wanting to try something new?? Needing something to fill your Sunday Afternoons??? Check out our SUNDAY BONUS CLASSES! These EXCLUSIVE pop-up classes are periodically offered at random on Sundays during normal operating hours, and are advertised in our facility and our Facebook page. Get ready to experience Zumba Sentao, Barre classes, Cize, and Advanced Yoga with our enthusiastic instructors.

YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga is a slow paced practice suitable for all levels of experience. This class is practiced by sitting or lying on the floor, while holding poses for 3-5 minutes. By holding poses for longer periods, we target deep connective tissues that surround major joints of the body, which helps increase joint mobility, improve circulation, and promote deep relaxation. This class is designed to bring a sense of balance and calm into our hectic day to day lives.

TABATA

Tabata, a high intensity interval training, is a great, QUICK workout to get in if you’re short on time, you need to switch up your routine, or you want to improve endurance & speed. Just twenty minutes per class, incorporate this type of workout into your fitness routine and produce results.

20/20/20 CLASS

20/20/20 Class is three workouts in one! It is designed to give you the ultimate challenge and total body workout. Sweat through 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of strength training, and 20 minutes of stretching and core work. This class will leave you motivated and ready for more!
