Adult Martial Arts Classes to Start January 23rd at the Y!

Come get results with our MIXED MARTIAL ARTS class. Increase your strength, agility, personal fitness, endurance and focus with this class tailored for adults. Our seasoned instructors offer a class format with 20% focus on form and 80% focus on bag work and sparring. This 8 week class will get your blood pumping and energy level up with a full body work out—up to 3 times per week!

Water Aerobics

Water Aerobics

Tone and sculpt your body with no impact to your joints. This popular water aerobics workout is a swimming blend of cardio and resistance training, and may incorporate resistance tools such as buoyant water weights and noodles. The water provides an atmosphere of safe resistance for aerobic conditioning. This class is perfect for the fit, pregnant, and/or joint-sensitive individual. You need not be a swimmer to participate.

Water depths will be up to 5 feet—if you can stand up in it, you can come! Lifeguard will be on duty. Check with the Y for seasonal program offerings.

Aqua Zumba

Yes, Aqua Zumba is a real thing. No, it isn't your traditional Zumba class done in the water. Yes it is full of energy, a few shimmies and some booty shakes but no, it isn't dance moves in the water. Aqua Zumba is created for the water. The moves are big and use the resistance of the water to create an awesome, fun, off the hook workout!

How It Works:

Aqua Zumba® blends the Zumba® philosophy with water resistance, for one pool party you shouldn’t miss!

Benefits:

There is less impact on your joints during an Aqua Zumba® class so you can really let loose. Water creates natural resistance, which means every step is more challenging and helps tone your muscles.

Co-Ed Volleyball

Adult VolleyballThis four week summer program is designed for adults to laugh, have fun, develop new friendships, and exercise. Participants are encouraged to form their own team of six or more, or to contact the YMCA to be placed on a team. Teams will play the best 2 out of 3 games, with each game played to 21 by rally scoring with a cap at 25; if a third game is played it will be to 15 with a cap at 17. Players not playing will take turns keeping the score cards during the games that their team is not actively playing. The Co-Ed Volleyball Program is open to everyone High School aged and older. It is a Sand Volleyball league that will meet at the Washington County Family YMCA Campus and play on the Sand Volleyball Court located near the soccer fields. Contact the Y for up to date information on league playing dates and times!
